Avadhānam and Literary Arts @ Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth
Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV), deemed-to-be-University (de novo), proposes to establish a Centre for Studies on Avadhānam and Literary Arts (CSALA), at its Chinmaya Eswar Gurukula Campus at Veliyanad, Ernakulam.
It is expected that such a Centre will revive the golden age of avadhānam, become a centre of excellence for the promotion, patronage and performances of this unique ‘performance’ art form. The centre further aims to reenergise study of kāvya, sāhitya, purāṇa and itihāsa, create a resurgence in the culture and arts of a past era and create avenues for intradisciplinary and interdisciplinary research in the process of learning and literary creativity. The latter will directly support CVV’s aim to promote a culture of “learn to learn” in students and faculty.
